Cat Skiing/Boarding Let Fernie Lodging Company make arrangements for you to experience cat-skiing. Enjoy the thrill of backcountry skiing 10,000-12,000 vertical feet in one day without the effort of climbing. Only a 15-minute shuttle to the Lodge. After completing your paperwork and gear set-up, you'll ride in a snowcat to the ski lodge for about 45 minutes. Return time is between 4:00-4:30 p.m.
Cat-skiing/boarding terrain is predominantly gladed tree skiing and occasional tree bands leading into open chutes. Available terrain is dependant on current weather and safety conditions and group ability. Note that where any climate is uncontrolled, some alterations to daily plans may be necessary to provide the safest experience. Day rates include guided skiing, lunch and use of avalanche transceivers; excludes transportation to and from the lodge and fat ski rentals (if required).
Backcountry Touring Explore professionally guided day trips or overnight camps to the best kept secret powder stashes in the region. Tours start at $125 per person (minimum 2 people). Group rates as low as $60 per person.
Sleigh Rides Enjoy family fun at Fernie Alpine Resort in a sleigh pulled by Belgian & Percheron draft horses. 30-minute rides are available daily at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 p.m.; minimum 8 and maximum 12 adults. Cost: $11 per person. Private bookings, groups and campfire dinner options available by request.
Dog Sledding Discover the thrill of dog power where you can learn the history and skills of this truly northern sport. Tours include professional guides and necessary equipment.
